Amarin Zentangle | How To Draw Zentangles

Among all the different zentangle patterns, flower-based patterns are my favorite.

The Amarin tangle is very simple to draw but still looks beautiful.

If you want to incorporate some kind of flower tangle in your art, I recommend you try this one first.

Let’s take a look at how to draw the Amarin Zentangle.

Step 1

Start by drawing a teardrop shape. This will be the first petal of your flower.

Step 2

Repeat step 1 two more times for a total of three teardrop-shaped petals pointing in different directions.

Step 3

Draw three more petals in between the origin three petals.

Since these petals are behind the original three, you only need to draw the top part to create the illusion of depth.

You can repeat this step several times for a bigger Amarin tangle.

For example, by drawing 6 more petals between the current 6 petals.

Step 4 – optional

I personally prefer to color the triangle in the middle.

But this is a personal choice.

Step 5

Draw three lines next to each petal.

You can choose to draw them on the left or the right of the petals.

But just make sure that you are consistent with every petal.

This lines almost make it look like your flower is spinning.

Step 6

Now you have finished drawing your first Amarin zentangle!

As I mentioned before, you can make a much larger tangle by adding several more petals.

For a more interesting and cool zentangle, you can also decorate your Amarin tangle with other patterns.

How to draw zentangles

Drawing a zentangle is super easy and only requires three simple steps.

Step 1: Draw a square

Start by drawing the outer edges of your zentangle.

This can really be any shape you want.

But if this is your first zentangle, I recommend you stick to a simple square or rectangle.

Step 2: Divide the square in 4

Draw two lines to divide your square in 4 sections.

You can draw the two diagonals or draw two curved lines like I did below.

As you become more experienced, you might want to divide your zentangle in more sections.

Step 3: Fill each section with a pattern

Fill in each of the sections with a different pattern.

You can come up with your own patterns, or try one of the patterns from the list below.
