Enyshou Zentangle | How To Draw Zentangles
Enyshou is a beautiful flower pattern that is also very simple to draw.
This zentangle pattern also goes great with other organic tangle patterns.
So let’s take a look at how to draw the Enyshou pattern!
Step 1
Start by drawing an ellipse towards one of the corners of your paper.
Step 2
Draw a smooth and curved line starting from the ellipse towards one of the other corners.
Step 3
Draw 2 more lines on each side for a total of 5 lines.
Start drawing the lines from the ellipse parallel to each other. And slowly taper them all to one point.
Together, the five lines will form one petal of your zentangle.
Step 4
Repeat step 2 and 3 to draw another petal.
Make sure to draw the petal slightly offset from the first and towards a different direction.
Step 5
Keep drawing as many extra petals as you want.
Step 6
And you are done!
Now you know how to draw Enyshou.
I hope you’ll give this fun zentangle a try.

What do you need for drawing zentangles?
The best thing about zentangle art is that you don’t need much to get started.
The only supplies you need to start drawing your first zentangle are:
- A pen with black ink: a pen with a fine-tip will make it easier to draw more complicated and detailed patterns. The Sakura Pigma Micron fineliner works great for this.
- Paper: any paper will do when starting out. But if you want to store your zentangles or put them on display, you might want to invest in better quality paper such as these bristol artist tiles.
- Pencil: pencils are often used to sketch complicated patterns before inking them. Make sure to use a sharp pencil or a mechanical pencil.
How to draw zentangles
Drawing a zentangle is super easy and only requires three simple steps.
Step 1: Draw a square
Start by drawing the outer edges of your zentangle.
This can really be any shape you want.
But if this is your first zentangle, I recommend you stick to a simple square or rectangle.

Step 2: Divide the square in 4
Draw two lines to divide your square in 4 sections.
You can draw the two diagonals or draw two curved lines like I did below.
As you become more experienced, you might want to divide your zentangle in more sections.

Step 3: Fill each section with a pattern
Fill in each of the sections with a different pattern.
You can come up with your own patterns, or try one of the patterns from the list below.
