Zinger Zentangle | How To Draw Zentangles
Not every zentangle pattern consists out of geometric shapes and straight lines.
There are a lot of organic zentangle patterns as well.
The Zinger tangle is definitely one of them, and can be a lot more fluid and as chaotic as you want.
Let’s take a look at how to draw the Zinger Zentangle pattern!
Step 1
Start off by drawing a wavy line.
Ideally, you want to start the line from one of the edges and towards the center.
Step 2
Draw a second line parallel to the first one.
These two lines together will form the stem.
Step 3
Draw an oval at the end of the stem.
You can draw a complete oval or one that is slightly open.
Sometimes people also color the inside of the oval black, but I prefer to leave mine blank.
Step 4
Start drawing semicircles that are slightly offset from the original oval.
Each semicircle should be a little smaller than the previous one. Such that all the semicircles form a cone-like shape.
Step 5
You can repeat steps 1 to 4 as many times as you want to draw a larger and more interesting zentangle.
In the image below, I drew a total of three Zinger tangles. But you can keep going until the entire area is filled.
Step 6
And there you have it…
You just drew the Zinger zentangle!
Unlike most other zentangle patterns, the Zinger pattern isn’t symmetrical or geometric.
That can make it a little more difficult for some.
But once you get the hang of it, drawing Zinger can be a lot of fun!
How to draw Zinger Zentangle
If you are still confused, the video below will show you step by step how to draw the Zinger zentangle pattern.
How to draw zentangles
Drawing a zentangle is super easy and only requires three simple steps.
Step 1: Draw a square
Start by drawing the outer edges of your zentangle.
This can really be any shape you want.
But if this is your first zentangle, I recommend you stick to a simple square or rectangle.
Step 2: Divide the square in 4
Draw two lines to divide your square in 4 sections.
You can draw the two diagonals or draw two curved lines like I did below.
As you become more experienced, you might want to divide your zentangle in more sections.
Step 3: Fill each section with a pattern
Fill in each of the sections with a different pattern.
You can come up with your own patterns, or try one of the patterns from the list below.
